Business owners, the commercial painters at Pro 1 Painting can help you with whatever project you have in mind for the exterior of your workspace. We might have “painting” in our name, but know that we can help you with so much more than paint. Our employees are skilled and knowledgeable when it comes to a wide variety of exterior and interior services. Whether you need repair, replacement, touch-ups, or a brand new paint job, we are the company for you!

We’d like to talk to you about why we think we should become your caulking experts. There are so many tutorials on how to “DIY” a caulking job. While this may work for some, we strongly believe the majority of business owners will save both time and money when they choose to let the experts at Pro 1 handle their caulking projects.

What is Caulking?

Caulking is the process by which joints, seams, and pipes, in various materials, are sealed. Essentially, caulking provides waterproofing due to the strength of the bond. It is clearly an important element when it comes to the foundational strength of your building. Additionally, caulking provides some thermal insulation and noise mitigation.

Using caulking to seal cracks and crevices in your building can be a smart way to prolong the life of your structure. It puts less strain on home appliances, and can save time and money by helping to prevent major external repairs. It can also help control a rodent or insect infestation.

How is Caulking Done?

As with any project, you will first need to gather the appropriate supplies. With our licensed contractors at Pro 1, you know you’ll be getting quality tools that have been field tested time and time again. The first step in what can be a time consuming process is removing all old caulking from the area that needs to be serviced. The old caulk should be scraped out, and then the entire area should be cleaned with a wire brush to ensure the tightest bond for the new caulk.

Then you’ll need to add touch up paint as needed – see, aren’t you glad you have professional commercial painters doing this project for you? When it’s time to apply the caulk, we will pull the caulk along a 45-degree angle to the joint being filled. Our commercial painting contractors are experts at applying even pressure so your caulk is smooth and perfect. From here, we’ll tool your newly applied caulk. Tooling is the process in which your caulk is smoothed and pressed into every place it needs to be. Then it will be time for the caulk to cure.

Once the active work is finished, our crew will clean up everything we’ve used so you aren’t left with a mess. We understand that while repairs such as caulking are beneficial to the overall image of your business, any work can interfere with your day. At Pro 1 Painters, we want to keep your business running as smoothly as possible. We’ll communicate with you so that we are all on the same page when it comes to where you’d like our painters to be, what time of day we’ll be working, and when you’d like the project fully completed. We work hard to finish every project with the utmost quality, on time, and under budget.
