Business owners, do you want to freshen up the exterior of your commercial space while also protecting it against the elements? It sounds like you could use a new paint job from the commercial painters at Pro 1! If the outside of your business is wood, you may think it would be a fairly simple project for you to tackle by yourself. However, there are many factors and steps that go into a seemingly straightforward exterior wood painting project. And with all you already do for your business, wouldn’t it be nice to leave the details to Pro 1’s professional painters? Our painters are all highly trained and skilled at prepping and painting your wood walls. What goes into painting wood? Here’s what we’ll do for you:
Before we begin any prep work, we will inspect the previous paint. You can try this inspection at home: take a piece of clear tape and place it over an inconspicuous piece of your wall. When you remove the tape, inspect it. If the tape is still clear, you may be able to get away with touching up your paint. If paint comes off with the tape, however, you’ll need to strip the old paint and start new. You may want to start new anyway; we can help you decide which direction you want to go in.
Once you decide, we’ll start the prep work right away. If you are starting over, we will begin by scraping off all of your old paint. Although many old homes have been painted with oil paint, we recommend stripping, sanding, and repainting with a latex paint. Not only will this stick to the wood more efficiently, but it will also help protect the wood against heat, excess moisture, and extreme cold.
If you’ve decided a touch up will do, there are different steps for our professional painters to take. We’ll begin by covering windows and doors with heavy plastic and laying drop cloths on the ground. Then we’ll use a hook scraper to remove loose paint. Next, we sand the remaining paint to a dull finish and remove all cracked caulking. After washing the walls, we apply primer and finally, your chosen paint.
This seems like a lot of steps, but you can rest easy knowing that each step will be completed with the utmost care and precision by our licensed painters.
In addition to our knowledge and skill, we also pride ourselves on being genuinely good people. We understand the importance of keeping your business running smoothly; that is why we will work with you to complete the painting project on the most optimal time frame. We have been known to paint parking lots at night if it works better for your business hours. We also believe in open and honest communication from the very beginning. We won’t throw any surprises at you. Our painters are professionals who will fit right into your company aesthetic.
