Giving your home a fresh, updated look doesn’t have to mean a major renovation. Sometimes, a simple coat of paint can work wonders, both inside and out. Recently, we had the opportunity to work on a project right here in the Mobile area that did just that, using light coastal colors for the interior and a modern touch on the exterior.
For the interior, we used a palette of whites and light greens for the walls. This created a serene, calming atmosphere that was perfect for relaxing and entertaining. The colors also helped to reflect natural light, making the space feel even brighter and more open.
On the exterior, we wanted to create a more modern look, while still keeping with the coastal feel of the neighborhood. We painted the front door and shutters in a bold black, which provided a striking contrast to the pale colors of the main house. This simple touch instantly transformed the exterior of the home, giving it a sleek, contemporary look that stood out in the neighborhood.

Why do light coastal colors work so well on Mobile homes?
Light coastal colors suit homes here because of the light itself. The Gulf Coast sun is bright and the glare off Mobile Bay finds its way into every room, so soft whites and pale greens reflect that daylight and make a space feel open and calm rather than washed out. It's a look that fits the relaxed coastal feel of Mobile-area neighborhoods, and we use it on homes all over Mobile County — from the older streets near Midtown to newer construction out in West Mobile. Pair that airy interior with a sharp, modern exterior accent and a whole house reads fresh.
